Today, I spent the whole of the day at Red Cinema, The Man United Cinema of Dreams (terima kasih Mr. Et-ot and Mrs Etot). Of course with free access from Mr. Et ot's presence, I was able to watch (again for the second time) Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. Rephrasing it in technical terms, that makes my rate of watching Harry is 2 times/3 days=1.333 times/day. Now I feel of wanting to re-read my GOF again although I've read it already about half a dozen times. There are some scences that made me stretch my memory back into the storyline of the book. So, here's what I think the deviations are, comparing the book and the movie.
The casts
Cho Chang is on Hufflepuff's Quidditch team: Supposedly, I liked Cho in the book. But, not this Cho in the movie. Lousy acting and weird accent which I later found out she was actually a Scottish(no offence to Scotish people)! That explains it'
Cedric Diggory Hufflepuff's Quidditch Captain: Cool and handsome, a real British teenager.
Fleur Delacour the Beauxbaton Champion: I can barely hear real words from her.
Viktor Krum the Bulgarian Quidditch seeker for the World Cup: Was handsome at first glance, (well the fact that he is very manly), in the movie, I was a bit disappointed, he should have had more lines to read.
Rita Skeeter the reporter from Daily Prophet: Not as nosy, is too good looking.
Mad Eye Moody: This is the lousiest character that I can imagine
The Weird Sisters (the rock band): Were actually dudes???
My most awaited scene
The portkey transporting them to the Quidditch worldcup: One of the mode of transportation in the wizarding world. Achieved my expectation.
The scene inside the tent at the camp site: Achieved expectation of how I imagine it should be.
The colourful bubbles at the prefects bath room: Can't really call it colourful bubles now can it?
The Yule Ball: I would love to see more scences from Hagrid and Madam Maxime.
The transformed Quidditch pitch for the dragon task: Its wild isn't it?
The maze erected from the Quidditch pitch: CGI did it all.
The abrupt change after Harry and Cedric touch the triwizard cup: The swing of mood have not really sink in, not even when Cedric was killed. Although, that was EXACTLY how it should be as according to the book.
The rise of Voldermort: The scariest moment I've had the last time I read the book, but is not as scary as I think it should be.
When Cedric dies and the reaction on Harry's face when he brought him back: Felt it right down through my sternum.. tangkap leleh air mata beb..
The Duel and the ghosts of Harry's parents: Was "OK"
My thumbs up
Hermione's ball scenes: I like her as my personal favourite. It was she who made me realise that these kids are growing up, having boyfriends and problems with boys. Tremendous improvements with her acting from Ron's hatefull remarks on Hermione.
Beuxbatons' Entrance: I like
Durmstrang Entrance: I like more
Ron's reaction after he asked Fleur to the ball: Rupert done it well, he's really the one actor that many critics are saying "Star in the making"
Fred & George's attempt to cheat the age line: Wicked
The Hungarian Horntail: Yeah, it was scary.
Lousy touch up scenes
Filch running into the hall, limping: What the..??
Filch blast of the cannon sooner than supposed to: Whatever
Micheal Gambon's Dumbledore need to be relaxed and calm in all matters: He's too anxious, too aggresive. The Dumbledore I expected need to be more calm and relax but very wise and sharp. He's not really the type who can strangle Harry when he was accused of putting his name in the GOF.
Favourite quotes
Fred/George: the way they pronounce "Portkey".. for those who watch British telly, can anyone recall the ADs " Have you got the Pot Noodle Horn"? Hehehe..
McGonagal's: Blabbery blamb....bla bla bla... was so brilliantly funny by Maggie Smith
Fred/George: Say this ^ five times faster
Dumbledore's: Dark and difficult times lies ahead
I can hardly wait for another dose of Harry Po'er!
